Shannon Costello

Congratulations to Shannon Costello for winning one of two scholarships awarded by Tealinc, Ltd. Shannon’s biography below showcases her excellence in both education and community involvement.

“In December of 2012, I received my Associates Degree in fine arts from Harper College in Palatine.  I am currently attending Eastern Illinois University where am continuing my journey towards becoming an elementary school teacher.  Throughout the last four years, I have really dedicated and geared my studies towards
becoming a teacher. During these years, I have interned, observed, and mentored students at various age levels and locations.  This was a great opportunity for me because it really showed me that teaching the younger ages, such as first or second grade, is my passion.  Also, I have volunteered as a camp counselor at Camp Soar. The camp is a summer program for children with disabilities.  Throughout my experiences, I have learned that I love helping others and seeing them succeed.”

“I have been a server at Ram Restaurant and Brewery in Schaumburg, IL for the past three years and absolutely love it.  Outside of school and work, I love spending time with family and friends.  They are my cheerleaders in whatever I do and encourage me to always pursue my dreams.”
